Is it possible?
Is it possible to provide healthy, mostly organic and locally grown food at a reasonable price and still make a living?
For Magnolia Bread Company, the answer has been “Yes, if you don’t mind barely scraping by even though you’re working 90 hours a week.”
While we do appreciate the fact that we enjoy our work and love our customers and feel good about providing such a healthy, honest product, we hope that by expanding the business to provide prepared lunches that we can earn a bit more money so we can continue to bake good bread .
This is a new venture with an uncertain outcome. We don’t pretend to have all the answers, but we promise to remain transparent in all aspects of the business and keep our customers informed as to our progress, our suppliers, and our failures and successes.
We belong to a community of people all trying to do the same thing–eat well, eat healthy, and make animal and environmentally friendly choices..
Together we can accomplish more than we can alone, so we at The Green Van like to think of our customers are part of “our team.”
If you are intersted in being on our Board of Directors or have any advice for us, please feel free to contact Dianne at thegreevan.atlanta@gmail.com.
